Dr. Ron Earp, meanwhile, began his professional life as a chemist, working for 3 years in Austin, Texas for Radian Corporation, an environmental consulting firm. These three years brought him two things - the realization that working in the Real World is hard, so why not do something you really enjoy, and an introduction to his future wife. Entering the Veterinary College at Iowa State University in 1985, Dr. Earp graduated in 1989 and moved to Portland shortly thereafter. Although he greatly missed those thrilling days of the Fighting Cyclones of Iowa State University, he was greatly comforted when his wife, Dr. Deb Sheaffer, graduated a year later and joined him here. That explains the presence of his two children, Nate and Mary. All are now adjusting to the rigors of clinic ownership, while nuturing Nate’s affection for baseball, and Mary’s incredible curiosity and intelligence. Dr. Earp is an enthusiastic fan of baseball, rooting especially hard for his three favorite teams – his son’s team, the Boston Red Sox and whoever is playing the New York Yankees! He and his wife have two dogs, two cats, one pigeons, four doves, one rabbit, and one fish. For now
