Arriving in September!
Dr. Ellie Bohrer
Dr. Ellie Bohrer is an Oregon native who grew up in nearby Gresham. From a young age, she was passionate about caring for animals, taking part in the 4-H program and volunteering at the Oregon Humane Society. She earned a bachelor’s degree in Zoology from the Oregon State University Honors College where her thesis on the feral cat overpopulation crisis strengthened her commitment to animal welfare and community medicine. She then went on to earn her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Oregon State University.
Following veterinary school Dr. Bohrer completed a rotating internship at VCA Northwest Veterinary Specialists in Clackamas. She then enjoyed caring for patients and their families at VCA North Portland Veterinary Hospital prior to joining the team at Laurelwood. She has special interests in internal medicine, cardiology, ultrasound, and palliative care.
Dr. Bohrer lives in the St. Johns area with her husband Mikkel and orange rescue cat Tillie. She enjoys practicing yoga, spending time at the barn with her horse Handy, and trying (but mostly failing) to learn new languages. She also loves testing out new pasta recipes (especially mac and cheese) and never misses an opportunity for a magical trip to Disney!
